João Barradas, jovem acordeonista com um grande respeito pela tradição, evidencia uma grande influência da linguagem musical de incontornáveis instrumentistas, compositores e mestres do Jazz, de Ahmad Jamal a Herbie Hancock (pianistas), ou de Greg Osby a Sonny Stitt (saxofonistas).
O acordeão com secção rítmica (bateria e contrabaixo) permite a liberdade necessária para construir uma sonoridade pouco explorada no mundo deste aerofone.
As suas composições originais baseiam-se numa linguagem jazz mainstream e partem da vontade de criar uma música actual, livre de preconceitos, com uma sonoridade própria e que reflete a vivência no meio musical do século XXI onde o acordeão se apresenta como uma ferramenta de expressão e não “apenas” uma estética musical.
